one of the things i worried about most before i had dylan was if eli and him were going to get along, if they would really love eachother? i mean, it could have gone either way. but it is very clear that these boys are best friends. of course, they have their moments, but nothing could come between them. one of my favorite things in the whole wide world is when eli calls dylan “brother”. like “brother, do you need something to drink?” or “come on, brother, let’s go play trains”. they very much have the additude of what’s yours is mine, what’s mine is yours. i love that. it keeps things simple.

having a front seat to their lives, watching their relationship grow and change, their little minds and bodies growing every day……..i thank God that He chose me to be their mommy.

they are the best. and i am blessed beyond my imagination with the most amazing little boys in the whole world!

i made plans last week, with my friend stephanie to go to the zoo today. i wasn’t sure after that i would make it today, after the night we had with dylan, (i think he’s getting his 2 year molers) but i decided that it wasn’t fair to eli if we missed out. i’m so glad we went. we had a really great time.

the little blond is hannah, steph’s little girl, and the other little girl is sophia, steph’s friend’s little one.

i just loved this picture of eli. doesn’t he look like he’s pretending to be in the jungle on the look out, or something?

the kids just ran when we got to the big open area. between the three mom’s, we had six kids……not once was there a melt down, or a fit, or anything. we stayed a little bit longer than i thought we would, but the kids were so great, why not?

on friday we barbequed at mark and shannon’s with carl and joann, and of course ALL of the kids! here they are packed into the sandbox!

i just loved this pic of dylan! he looks so grown-up!

saturday was a work day for eric. he was painting the under eves, and the trim on our house. it carried over into sunday, he worked SOOO hard. that is not an easy job!

eric’s parents came by on sunday afternoon, and we just relaxed in the front yard. this is dylan being tickled by duke with a tree branch. i just love it!

monday, we went downtown and had lunch at theresa’s restaurant. then we walked along the river.

when we got home, i went to work painting eli’s room. (i will be posting on that soon!) all in all a pretty great weekend. it sure feels good to get some things accomplished, and still have some fun!
