meet selucia….
March 4, 2008our new family member.
eric and i brought her home last weekend from an auction we attended for eli’s school.
eli really likes her, on sunday morning we showed him what we got for him and dylan, and we asked him to name her. he said he wanted to think about it, and for the next three hours, everytime we would ask him, he would say that he “didn’t want to talk about it”. then out of nowhere he said that he had a name for her.
“selucia”
(sel-u-sha)
(eric came up with the spelling!)
we have no idea where he came up with her name, but it’s perfect.
very “fishy” sounding:)
jaydah, our cat doesn’t seem too interested….
for now anyway!
so for now, our family is feeling a little more balanced, even if “the girls” consist of a mommy, a cat, and a fish.

Viv: Sounds pretty fishy to me.
Viv: Just kidding, I love Selusha, Great name Eli!
{The Christian's}: What a great name. It is funny the names and things kids come up with when you ask them to name something. :)
Jme: How exciting to have a new family member! :) I love the name Eli chose for her (how do you know it's a girl??)
I had a beta once and his name was Alphabets (don't know where that name came from either! :)
Enjoy your "balance"! :)
Beth: apparently the big pink rocks make her a girl! i guess a boy wouldn't have those:) (dylan has already tried to "fish" them out and eat them, he thinks they look like jello!)
jamie,
i think alphabets is a perfect beta fish name!
the yaney's: We have a boy betta named Tony!:) Selusha is a great name!
jessamyn: that is a fabulous name! very creative...
and this picture, I love. Especially how Eli is just laying his head to the side looking at his new friend.
Amy: congrats on your new addition!!! i love the vibrant colors! best of luck with your little fishy! =)
Amy: How cute! We just told the kids (after we gave Roxie away) that the next pet we are going to get is definitely going to be a fish. They are a lot easier to take care of than a dog!!
