October 20, 2009

my second session while i was in cali was with my best friend and her unbelievably beautiful family.  on sunday evening, we headed out to jamie’s family home.  they were out harvesting the rice, but we found a perfect field that had yet to be cut, and took advantage of all of the beautiful light.  we were done in record time.  the girls were super cooperative and full of personality.  it was a perfect session with a perfect family…

love you guys!

rebecca cook: Fourth down is my fave!

Andrea Foster: These are beautiful! I love them too!!! Such a cute family. I love the one's of Nicole's family too. Are you coming home for Christmas? Would love to set up a baby session and family session with you!

so we arrived in california late friday evening, and saturday we went straight to bishop’s pumpkin farm.  one of my favorite things to do as a kid, i knew that we would go atleast twice while we were there.  on this trip, mimi (my mom) gave the kids a choice between a pony ride, or face painting…eli and nomi chose the ponies.  can you get over how proud she is?  and look at that wave…watch out heather, you might have a 4H queen on your hands ;)

my handsome cowboy…

pumpkin-0121

the before picture of emma and dylan before they got painted…so clean and innocent, and then…

pumpkin-0521

watch out!  spiderman was out to get everyone with his webs.  please look at his little face.  can’t you hear the sound effects with his little lisp?

pumpkin-0761

then mimi got them all carmel apples… well, nomi just wanted ice water.  just look at how my children are gazing at the beautiful, colorful, little droplets of candy covered chocolates, stuck to the ooey-gooey carmel that has been poured over a nice big juicy apple…

pumpkin-1041

apparently spiderman doesn’t eat apples.  only candy, and carmel that is stuck to apples…

pumpkin-1161

emma is giving them the what for…i love how that girl moves ;)  note: her moon and bats with glitter painting…

pumpkin-1051

here they are with the gazing again…

pumpkin-1261

we finally got them to give up the apples for some play time.  but playing in the toy train isn’t near as fun as playing ON the toy train.  boys…

and this was only take one.

beautiful baby…

October 16, 2009

the boys and i just got back from a 10 day trip to california.  while visiting family and friends, i had the chance to fit in quite a few photo sessions, which i will be sharing over the next week or so.  this one in particular was very special:)  i got to meet my cousins’ new babies!  little kinsley was sleeping, and wasn’t wanting to be bothered…(you can see a peek of her at the end of the post:)  but mister radley was rested and ready for his close-up.  can you get over his sweet face?  his big blue eyes, and full little lips remind me of my dylan when he was a baby.

tamey-0511

the store is FULL of inspiration and goodies.  there are lots of handmade delights as well as all the goods to make your own creations…including the most popular designer fabrics out there!

so whether you are a seasoned seamstress, an aspiring one, or someone who can just appreciate the value of handmade, you are sure to leave completely inspired:)

rendy: Way cool. You're a pro. I will say I'm sad not to see the flutter sleeved dress and bloomers, though. :) JK When she gets that site up, I think I'll call her and see if she wants to buy another one of my patterns. I need a fabric fix. :)

beckie: beautiful, as always, B. I'd be proud to use your shots to promote my business --- what a lucky lady 'Aunt Tam' is!

Tamara: BEAUTIFUL photography! Eryn Kesler sent me over to your site - I'm so excited to see Aunt Tam's getting such great publicity - just word of mouth - she is the most beautiful lady - inside and out - her store is "eye candy" - medicine for the soul - just a super fun place to go and feel inspired and soak in creativity and even just to feel valued - she always is bubbling with warmth and friendliness and the huge array of talented crafters that put their hardwork up for sale in her shop amaze me - I LOVE that she is right across from the library - it's a perfect triangle stop - library, Aunt Tam's and Blue Castle Coffee! I might become a blog lurker just to see your amazing photos - those blue eyed children are GORGEOUS!

my baby is a kindergartener.

September 9, 2009

this morning on the way to eli’s first day of kindergarten, he looked at me and said “mom, you are one of the most important things in my life.”  my sweet boy must have sensed that i needed some reassurance as i watched him take his first step of independance…

…and he is more than ready.  can’t you see the excitement in his perfect little face?  i did pretty well. too:)  no tears from me..i think i’ve cried enough over the summer just anticipating this day.  i was emotionally prepared.  there is something to say for having a child that is so terribly excited to learn.  eli’s going to give his sweet teacher a run for her money…in the best way possible.
